An enlightening lecture on posture and its effect on artistic performance by Dr. Scott Diamond, chiropractor, and musical performance by Aron Zelkowicz, cellist.
Dr. Scott Diamond has been working as a chiropractor for over twenty-two years. His passion and specialty is the care of performing artists. He provides advanced body-work services and teaches tools and strategies to optimize health, and allow the best possible performance. Attendees will discover how to minimize the postural risk factors that contribute to musculoskeletal issues, and learn the keys to optimizing performance through movement, breathing, exercises, and micro breaks.
Aron Zelkowicz is recognized as a versatile musician with a broad career as a performing cellist, teacher and administrator. He will play selections from his repertoire which he defines as “classical and ethnic, familiar and obscure”, including works by Bach, Britten, and Cassadó. Aron will collaborate with Dr.
Diamond to demonstrate and elaborate upon the challenges of playing the cello with proper posture and the physical effects of playing a musical instrument.
