The first floor and grounds of the historic Loring-Greenough House are available for rental for all types of occassions, large affairs or intimate receptions. The House is situated on two acres of manicured lawns and gardens in the heart the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. Steps away are Harvard University’s Arnold Arboretum and beautiful Jamaica Pond, both part of the “Emerald Necklace” park system, designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted.
If you are intrigued by historic settings, let the Loring-Greenough House be the site for your event. The house is ideal for small meetings, retreats, seminars, parties and other social or business events, as well as concerts. The House is also a wonderful setting for larger events and especially weddings. In fact, there are five churches within walking distance. Whatever your affair, this two acre oasis is just the place you need.
The interior of the House is furnished as a gentleman’s country home, each room decorated in a different period of the House’s history. The Loring-Greenough House can accommodate 45 for a seated dinner or 60 for a stand-up buffet. The grounds are perfect for a lovely tented function and can accommodate up to 200 guests. The garden and the antique-filled interior provide attractive backdrops for photographs. Though parking is limited to 15 cars on-site, additional parking is available at the Curtis Hall parking lot next door, on the street, and in nearby city lots. The Loring-Greenough House is easily reached by the MBTA’s #39 bus, a quick walk from the Orange line or a short ride from Boston’s Logan Airport. The first floor of the House is wheelchair accessible.
