Please join the Loring Greenough House through three seasons as we celebrate all things garden! Monthly events May through September will take place on the Grounds and in the Garden, welcoming plant experts and novices alike to gather and grow.

WAKE UP YOUR GARDEN

STORIES, SECRETS, AND SOIL

May 6th

What’s blooming at the Loring Greenough House? In addition to signs of spring, we have stories and secrets to share!

Come discover how to wake up your sleeping garden, “meet” some of the people who lived and worked at Loring Greenough, and see a secret space recently explored by the city’s Archeologist! There will be games and activities for all ages, a plant sale, soil testing, and historic spaces to tour. Our event adds to the Jamaica Plain’s Wake Up the Earth celebrations and helps kick off Boston’s Preservation Month, so join us in learning about new dimensions of Loring Greenough. And if you want to come relax and enjoy the advent of spring flowers in our beautiful gardens, you’re welcome to do so, too.

PLANT A PATIO POT

JUNE 3rd

10am – 12pm

Local green thumbs will lead an outdoor workshop to guide you in creating a charming patio planter. Participants will plant a pot with an assortment of long-blooming annuals to take home for a summer of outdoor pleasure. All materials (pot, plants, soil, and tools to borrow) will be provided. Sure to be a fun event for flower newbies and seasoned gardeners alike.

Cost: $25 (includes instruction and materials)

Workshop takes place outdoors on the Loring Greenough House grounds.

GARDENS OF JAMAICA PLAIN WALKING TOUR

JULY 8th

11am – 2pm

Start from the beautiful historical Gardens of the Loring Greenough House, where you can tour our flower beds and pick up a map to continue your tour through the neighborhood.

Cost: $15 General Admission / $10 for LGH Members

THE HARVEST

Join us on the Loring Greenough House Lawn Saturday September 23rd for a pop-up festival celebrating The Harvest, and reaping the rewards of sowing seeds in our Community and Neighborhood!

Coincides with The Hive’s Oktoberfest and day one of Jamaica Plain Open Studios 2023
