JPTC Concert Series 2015-2016

Local Jamaica Plain jazz musician will offer up a program of seasonally inspired saxophone music.

Dennison Blackett is a talented artist of many mediums.  Of the many talents that make the artist are saxophonist, producer, engineer, and electronic musician with a little hint of musical programming.  However, Dennison will admit that saxophone is his first love.

Dennison’s Jazz Influences include Duke Ellington’s band, Charles Mingus in any form, Miles Davis, throughout his entire career, and saxophonist Johnny Hodges for his sweet sound.

The continuation of the concerts this year is made possible by the generosity of our sponsor and Friend-of-the-LGH-extraordinaire, James Spriggs. This season’s concerts are dedicated to Katharine Cipolla, who began the series in 2000 and ran it as a tireless volunteer through the spring of 2015. Katharine combined her loves of early and classical music and of the Loring-Greenough House to create a series which became a local institution. We are honored to extend a very special thanks to James and Katharine.
