Winter Solstice Light Show
Thursday, December 21, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$7

The winter solstice- the longest night of the year (Thursday Dec 21) – is a celebration of the imminent return of the sun, bringing together mixed spiritual and cultural beliefs as the earth poles are at their maximum tilt.
Inside the Loring Greenough’s historic parlour – dressed in its festive best- Roxbury musician, Richie Smith, will host a unique, live guitar-controlled light show that will allow you to experience what he sees as you let the soothing, Yule inspired music wash over you.
The event will be followed by a small craft time to make a solstice memento to take home and a cup of warming hot chocolate as you step back into the frosty night.
The event is partly sponsored by The Children’s Music Center.
Cost: $7 non members, $5 members, $3 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free.
About the Artist:

Our performer, Richie Smith, experiences synesthesia. Synesthesia is when your brain routes sensory information through multiple unrelated senses, causing you to experience more than one sense simultaneously. Richie experiences visual color when hearing and playing music. His accompanying light show allows the audience to experience some of what he sees during a performance.
